My first interaction with Shannon was when she sent me a note about her upcoming wedding through Facebook. I saw that she was a UMW graduate and I knew then that she and her fiancee, Stephen, were going to be amazing and that was solidified when I met up with them last month for their engagement session.

Shannon and Stephen met in high school. He played sports and she was cheerleader. Shannon said she had a major crush, but the two ended up at separate colleges before connecting again after graduation. Now, they’re planning their fall wedding in Richmond and I couldn’t be more excited for them.

We met up last month at an outdoor location for engagement photos and these two were amazing. It was warm out and the grass was a little tall in some areas with a bug or two, but the light was perfect and they worked it. They have an ease around each other that I love. Stephen can make Shannon break into the biggest smile and it’s clear that they absolutely adore each other. I cannot wait to capture their wedding this fall. Until then, I’ll share a few of my favorites from their engagement session. On a side note, how amazing is Shannon’s dress? And that ring? Gorgeous!
