I'm a published wedding and portrait photographer located in a small town outside of Charlottesville. In addition to capturing beautiful images, I love spending time with my family, am freakishly good at word games (Hey Wheelmobile!), love an ice cold can of Coke or Dr. Pepper, know every line to Hocus Pocus and can never pass up a Chick-fil-A waffle fry or a trip to HomeGoods.
I love when the dance floor stays busy and Layne and Saul’s Arbor Haven wedding was no exception. These two, their friends and their families can dance.
Layne and Saul are high school sweethearts. Saul’s best man highlighted their long relationship in his speech, noting how Saul first said he liked Layne back before they became a couple and how she used to drive them around in her Bug. That is the car that high school girl dreams were made of with the little flower vase attached to the dash. I think we need to bring them back.
Fast forward past the bug days, Layne and Saul got engaged in the fall 0f 2019 and had their wedding in April 2021. It was a beautiful day. Layne was absolutely gorgeous in her lace gown and Saul’s tux was a perfect shade of blue. (I’m loving the blue tux trend for grooms and groomsmen!) Layne chose dusty blue, quartz and white for her colors which offered just the right amount of spring color. They also had custom cookies (hello ring shot!) and a beautiful cake with complimenting cupcakes.
Following the ceremony, Layne and Saul hit the dance floor, enjoying their first dance before the dance floor stayed full all night. DJ Christian Thompson kept the party going. Everything ended off with a sparkler exit. It was perfect. Enjoy some of my favorites from the day below.
