I'm a published wedding and portrait photographer located in a small town outside of Charlottesville. In addition to capturing beautiful images, I love spending time with my family, am freakishly good at word games (Hey Wheelmobile!), love an ice cold can of Coke or Dr. Pepper, know every line to Hocus Pocus and can never pass up a Chick-fil-A waffle fry or a trip to HomeGoods.

Ruth + Zach | Chesterfield Wedding

I first met Ruth and Zach last fall at Maymont. We spent a warm afternoon exploring the grounds and capturing their engagement photos. They were so much fun together, plus Ruth and I share a love for Coca-Cola (definitely my biggest vice I know, but I’m not a coffee girl. Instead, I prefer an ice cold Coke for my caffeine fix. Or an ice cold canned Dr. Pepper, but we’re getting off topic.) When they broke out the glass Coke bottles to include in their engagement photos, I knew we were a perfect match.

Ruth and Zach planned their Chesterfield wedding for the beginning of June and when faced with COVID restrictions, moved their location to Bethany Place Baptist Church. The church is absolutely beautiful with the prettiest stained glass windows. It was the perfect location for both the ceremony and reception. Ruth and Zach also made it their own with lots of personal touches including a drawing of the two of them near the entrance and baby ring bearers accompanied by their fathers who enthusiastically threw flowers while pulling their children down the aisles. There was also a taco bar and who doesn’t love a taco bar? My favorite might have been their compass favors which were such a unique touch.

After dinner and dancing, Ruth and Zach exited in a sea of bubbles and drove off to their honeymoon in their heavily decorated car thanks to the groomsmen and some family members. Not only were there furry pink accents involved, but there was a unicorn on the hood. Nicely done!

Enjoy some of my favorites from the day.
