Laura and Jimmy wanted to get married outdoors with mountain views and their Wolftrap Farm wedding definitely fit the bill. Jimmy is originally from Georgia so outdoors was a must. He and Laura met at a local bar when he was in Virginia for work. A little over a year later, he relocated to Virginia and proposed the week of Christmas.

Laura describes the two of them as laid back and relaxed, and it’s true. They have an ease with each other which was evident the day of their wedding. They were all smiles together. They also added lots of little elements that reflected them as a couple.

For the wedding, they chose shades of blue with the bridal party wearing different hues. The table settings featured blue linens with greenery and hydrangeas. Laura’s bouquet had a red rose for her dad and she carried her late father-in-law’s ashes. Jimmy received his father’s wedding band. Laura also wore her sister’s headpiece and her grandmother’s necklace.

Wolftrap Farm, a 584 acre horse and cattle farm, not only has mountain views, but it also has ponds for fishing and several rental houses or cottages. It’s nice because there are several spots for the ceremony and reception making each really reflect the couple.

Laura and Jimmy like fishing so they chose to have their ceremony behind the pond house, with the large pond in the background. They were married by a family friend, with Laura’s sister, brother-in-law and nieces making up the bridal party. For the reception, they chose the Black Meadow Pavilion which features gorgeous mountain views in the background.

Plus, it’s a great spot to dance and spend time with family and friends, which Laura and Jimmy definitely did. They spent the night laughing, dancing and chatting with friends and family. There were even balloon creations for the kids and Laura and Jimmy incorporated their families and special milestones by displaying photos on their gift table. Personalized cups and napkins featured their motto, “You and me. Forever and always. And a day.” Plus, Jimmy’s mom made the cheesecakes and they looked amazing.

It was a beautiful day of celebrating Laura and Jimmy at their Wolftrap Farm wedding and I’m so glad they chose me (and my faithful second shooter/husband Ron) to capture it.
