A helicopter, a stick tepee and boho bridal inspiration? Sign me up y’all!

Nearly four years ago, I had the opportunity to participate in a styled wedding shoot at Snead’s Asparagus Farm in Fredericksburg. The shoot was based around a fiesta-style theme with a taco bar, margaritas, pinatas, bright colors and tons of fun Spanish-themed elements. It wasn’t something you typically see and as part of it, I not only captured fiesta bridals, but also colorful orchard bridals and, wait for it, helicopter and tepee boho bridals. This shoot had it all.

Snead’s has an old Army helicopter, a Sikorsky H-34 Choctaw which the Army began flying in 1955. I’m not sure how one made it to an asparagus farm, but during the holiday season Santa can be seen sitting in cockpit. It made the perfect backdrop for some unusual bridal images. It also didn’t hurt that the dress was absolutely stunning with a show-stopping back and lace sleeves. Plus, the florals were super bright as were the accessories which really popped against the green helicopter. Unlike the orchard photos, it was cloudy while shooting at the helicopter, so it made for less of a hot August feel and more of a late spring look.

After the helicopter, with the sun starting to peek through the clouds, we headed to the well-shaded tepee for some more bridals complete with a little accessory switch up for even more boho bridal inspiration fun.
