I'm a published wedding and portrait photographer located in a small town outside of Charlottesville. In addition to capturing beautiful images, I love spending time with my family, am freakishly good at word games (Hey Wheelmobile!), love an ice cold can of Coke or Dr. Pepper, know every line to Hocus Pocus and can never pass up a Chick-fil-A waffle fry or a trip to HomeGoods.

Football frenzy…

This fall, I had the chance to attend a middle school football game. And, in true Gracie fashion, I came to the game, camera in hand. The game was great, but I was really more impressed with the team attire. Anyone who has watched the NFL lately has noticed splashes of pink among the grime […]

A princess party…

In September, my niece, Briana, celebrated her sixth birthday with a very special guest…Cinderella. Briana and her friends were treated to a princess party, enjoying songs, stories, face painting and more with Cinderella before eating a lot of princess cake. Hello, Cinderella!  Story time… Cinderella autographs… …and face paints!  And she plays games! A cake fit […]

Cecil’s second birthday…

My nephew, Cecil, celebrated his second birthday at McDonald’s in August. I think his favorite present was probably his new bicycle, although I have a feeling the bag of ice pops was a close second. He’s somewhat of an ice pop addict.

Great Danes…

I’m always on the lookout for things to shoot that I haven’t done before. Working in journalism, I often find myself taking photographs of things that I wouldn’t otherwise do. Even so, a dog show was a new one for me. In August, my aunt and uncle hosted a Great Dane show at their campground, […]

Fireworks…

Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. Not only is it a summer holiday, which is a big plus in my book, but it’s all about celebrating our freedom, hosting barbecues and watching fireworks. I don’t know how it could get any better than that. I love photos of fireworks, especially ones that […]

Vacation Bible School…

Games, snacks, crafts, Bible study. Vacation Bible School is a fixture of the summer for many children. It offers a chance to get out of the house for a week, make new friends, eat amazing cookies, craft, learn about the Bible and more. I can remember spending many summers at VBS and I’m pretty sure […]

Guy’s fourth birthday…

In May, my nephew, Guy, celebrated his fourth birthday. Like many young children, he had a party at Chuck-e-Cheese. The interesting thing with these parties is that the adult guests seem to enjoy the games as much, if not more, than the children. It works out for the birthday child though, because the adults tend […]

Preparing for Sarah…

In April, a baby shower was thrown for a friend of mine. At the time, Torie was preparing to give birth to her second daughter, Sarah, and her friends and family were happy to help. Sarah was born, happy and healthy, in early June. Big sister Amy looks for the perfect snack. Waiting for a […]

Easter…

These are just a few of the many pictures I took over Easter weekend. I must say, Easter is one of my favorite holidays. To me, it solidifies that spring has sprung. Flowers are blooming, animals are emerging and everything is shedding its winter gloom to make way for a bright, new season. An Easter […]

Flashback Friday: Preschool Graduation

Next weekend, hundreds of little preschoolers will don their caps and gowns and have their very first graduation. Then it’ll be off to something new and exciting–kindergarten. Last year, my niece was involved in this very important rite of passage and now she’s about to finish kindergarten. It’s crazy how time flies. No preschool graduation […]
