I'm a published wedding and portrait photographer located in a small town outside of Charlottesville. In addition to capturing beautiful images, I love spending time with my family, am freakishly good at word games (Hey Wheelmobile!), love an ice cold can of Coke or Dr. Pepper, know every line to Hocus Pocus and can never pass up a Chick-fil-A waffle fry or a trip to HomeGoods.

Stars and Stripes ’13

One of my favorite events is the local Fourth of July celebration, “Stars and Stripes.” I love summer, holidays and fireworks and this event is the perfect combination of all three. Plus, the fireworks are so great and fun to photograph. And the food at the party we attend is amazing, right along with the […]

A visit to the tulip festival

If I haven’t already mentioned it a thousand times, I love spring. I love everything about it–the warmer temperatures, the blue skies and of course, the flowers. Each spring, I try to visit the tulip festival, a massive field of tulips planted by a man from Holland and his wife. The tulips are organic, which […]

April Beach Trip ’13

My husband works in the accounting/auditing field so every April, we try to take a short post-tax season vacation. This year, we took a trip to the Outer Banks. April is a nice time to visit the area because everyone is gearing up for the summer season. Homes are being repaired, seasonal businesses are opening […]

Cherry blossoms ’13

Earlier this spring, my husband and I took a trip to D.C. to visit the National Zoo and also check out the cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms are amazingly beautiful every year, blooming bright pink as they welcome in spring in the nation’s capital. When we made our visit, the trees were just beginning to […]

Flashback Friday: Beach ’09

Since I’m heading to the beach this weekend with my husband’s family, I figured a Flashback Friday featuring a previous beach trip was in order. The 2009 beach week was a great vacation. The weather was gorgeous, we had dolphins swimming in front of our house, we played lots of volleyball and it’s when I […]

Zoo ’13

I love the zoo. The animals are awesome, you get great exercise walking around and can enjoy a fun, rather inexpensive day outdoors. I try to make it to the National Zoo every spring and this year was no different. The weather was gorgeous and the cherry blossoms were just starting to turn pink, which […]

Rural sunsets…

Is there anything better than rural sunsets? The sun wresting on the hills, with sky displaying a variety of different hues. There’s no editing when it comes to a sunset. What you see is too beautiful to be anything other than straight out of the camera goodness.

Flashback Friday: Williamsburg ’09

I had a hard time coming up with a topic for today’s Flashback Friday, but since summer is coming quickly, I thought a previous summer vacation might make for a good feature. A few summers ago, my husband and I visited Williamsburg for a long weekend. I had been to Williamsburg before when I was […]

Flashback Friday: April Beach Trip ’10

Since my husband and I are at the beach this weekend, I thought it was only fitting that today’s Flashback Friday feature a previous April beach trip. Today’s post features photos from a trip that we took in April 2010 to the Outer Banks. We visited several lighthouses, spent some time at the beach, did […]

Flashback Friday: Tulip Festival ’11

One of my favorite things to do in the spring is visit the EcoTulips Festival. Unfortunately, due to the crazy weather recently, the tulips aren’t quite ready yet. They should hit their peak next weekend, about two weeks later than expected, but they’re worth the wait. Here are some photos from a visit to the […]
