When my husband and I went to the National Zoo in March, we took a side trip to the Tidal Basin to see the cherry blossom trees. I’ve wanted to go every year for years, but we never made it until this year. Because of the unusually warm spring weather, the trees bloomed early and I was able to catch them in action. Most of them were still white, having not yet turned to pink, but some were taking on a rosier hue. The trees are a national treasure and definitely worth the trip and crowds to check them out.
