Lots of couples love their coffee so what better place to have a boho wedding than in a coffee house? Years ago, Mission Coffee had a space in downtown Lynchburg that had an event area in the back. The coffee company has since moved out of the space to focus on their other locations in Lynchburg, but 722 Commerce Street is now home to the Academy of Arts and is known as The Music Hall. It’s still rentable for events, as are all of the other Academy’s spots.
This particular shoot was done when the place was still occupied by Mission Coffee and featured a boho, earthy theme. Think macrame, clay colors, pampas grass, vases, etc. There was a fun copper colored couch and a great pink cake. Plus, coffee of course and some gorgeous lace dresses.
The shoot was part of a benefit in 2021 which raised funds for the YWCA of Central Virginia. The organization aims to empower women, children and families. They have a domestic violence prevention program, a sexual assault response program and a women’s residential housing program. They also operate Church Street Bridal which offers designer gowns at vastly reduced prices. The funds from Church Street Bridal benefit the YWCA. I can never say enough good things about Church Street. Your girl loves a bargain and if its also helping others, I’m all about it. Other Lynchburg locations featured during the shoot include Firehouse 4, Atelier Studio and The Virginian Hotel.
