Shelley + Greg | Etlan, Virginia Wedding

If you want a beautiful summer wedding with a hint of southern, look no further than this Etlan wedding. Shelley and Greg were married in June at the Farmhouse at Beautiful Run, a gorgeous home and surrounding acreage in the Etlan area of Madison County. Owners Bruce and Pinkie stumbled upon the farm when visiting from Colorado and I can see why they fell in love with it. The circa 1910 two-story white house is beautiful and the owners have turned it into a perfect bed and breakfast with an outdoor kitchen, pool and of course, cows.

Shelley and Greg chose to get married in front of the pond under the shade of an old oak tree. When she first contacted me, Shelley said they had learned that life is about love and laughter and wanted their wedding to be a special day with friends and family. The day matched her vision perfectly with children playing on the hill blowing bubbles, guests mingling and catching up and couples dancing on the newly built stage space.

Shelley chose various shades of yellow and blue as her colors which perfectly reflected the summer day. I love yellow and am always surprised more brides don’t use it. It’s sunny and happy, perfect for a wedding day. Her flowers featured a mix of wildflowers and roses all arranged by Pinkie. She was also in charge of the cake. The wedding party was comprised of Shelley and Greg’s children, Shelley’s sister and some close friends. The ceremony was beautiful and intimate, with Shelley escorted by her son. The tented reception was a mix of mingling and toasts. Plus, can you ever go wrong with Barbecue Exchange catering?

It was the perfect summer wedding day. Enjoy some of my favorites below from this Etlan wedding:
