Winter Wedding Inspiration | Wintergreen Resort

Winter is for…weddings? I think when people think of ideal months or seasons for weddings, they automatically go for spring, summer or fall, but winter weddings can be absolutely stunning. Imagine a bride in her dress in the snow with a faux fur shawl and beautiful flowers that add just a tiny pop of color. That’s what happened during this shoot which offers tons of winter wedding inspiration.

It was extremely cold on this February day at Wintergreen Resort. The resort offers a variety of locations for weddings, both in the trees and at overlooks. This particular shoot took place at one of the many rental homes at the resort. There are plenty to choose from, nestled all along the mountains. There’s also more traditional resort-type lodging and event space. It snowed the day before so there was snow on the ground along with a little ice.

The shoot featured shades of green and gold with black eyed anemones (one of my favorites!), faux fur, custom cookies and more. The bride wore an off the shoulder long sleeve dress while the groom donned a classic black tux. Bridesmaids wore cream colored dresses with green shawls. The tablescapes mixed greens and gold with gold accented plates and green glassware. Vintage style furniture complimented the setting and the three tier white cake featured a gold wire topper.
